Syringa pekinensis ‘Zhang Zhiming’

A selection made by Zhang Zhiming, Woody Plant Unit Leader of the Beijing Botanic Garden, People’s Republic of China, and given to the Morton Arboretum. Distinguishing characteristics include unusual primrose-yellow flowers, attractive, cinnamon-colored bark and unique yellow-gold fall color. Beijing Gold™ was introduced into the United States through the North America-China Plant Exploration Consortium (NACPEC). It will reach 20' in height with a 15' spread. Zones 4-7.
