Beeson's McHenry County Nursery, Harvard, Illinois, selected this tree from a seedling block of Malus sargentii for its distinctive upright habit, reddish-purple-tinged foliage and excellent disease resistance. In the spring, crimson-red flower buds open to bright pink flowers that age to an almost-white color with a crimson picotee. Fruit set is light but what does develop has a dark burgundy-red color. Zones 4-7. |
