Cranberry Viburnum

Johnson’s Nursery, Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, selected this plant for its densely branched upright form, good growth rate and attractive, red-tinted new foliage. This native shrub produces handsome white flowers in mid-to late May, followed by clusters of ornamental bright red fruit which persist from late fall through early winter. The foliage turns a brilliant red in fall. This selection has been verified by Dr. Edward R. Hasselkus of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, as a true V. trilobum, not a hybrid, unlike many other cultivars in the trade. Matures 8' to 10' in height with a 6' to 8' spread. Needs cross-pollination for best fruit production. Zones 2-7.
