Selected especially for its heavy flower production, the light lemon-colored flowers are well displayed against the lime-green foliage. 'Mojito' comes into peak bloom in mid- to late May, somewhat ahead of most other Baptisia in Zone 5. The vase-shaped habit in spring gives way to a more rounded habit during the remainder of the growing season. The original plant (6 years old) was 42" tall x 48" wide in the spring and 60" wide in late autumn of 2010.
USDA Zones 5 to 7 at least. Introduction #CG09-007. A complex hybrid developed from the species Baptisia australis, B. leucophaea, and B. sphaerocarpa. Developed by Dr. Jim Ault at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, Illinois.
